A small, modern dance company in north Seattle, ARC Dance wants to connect the viewer to the performance viscerally - and part of the way they achieve this is by the audience's proximity to the dance. Their new identity reflects this 'up close' feeling, and gives them a fresh, clean, modern look as well.
We felt their previous identity lacked the boldness and confidence of the performances. And it tended to disappear in application.
For their new logo, we wanted the viewer to feel as close as possible, evoking the feel of the performances.
Celebrating the joy of movement, the dancer in this poster set for ARC Dance is leaping out of the frame. Printed double-sided, each location received two posters, which they could hang as close or far apart as they chose - the vibrant yellow background visually ties the two pieces together.
